History:

Established in 1918, Bass Lake Cheese Factory is one of the first specialty cheese factories producing hand-made artisan cheeses from different milk sources: cows and goats. Six-time Master Cheesemaker Scott Erickson creates many varied types and styles of cheese to choose from including some "Bass Lake" originals. In our retail store, we now also are serving homemade soups, sandwiches, pizza, Grilled Cheese sandwiches featuring our fine cheeses along with a good assortment of wines, beers, and mixed drinks for you to enjoy during your visit. Educational displays with dairy antiques are available, along with a viewing window, cheesemaking video, and friendly knowlegeable staff to sample and answer questions about our cheese. The factory is located out in the country just north of Hudson, Wisconsin and just east of Stillwater, Minnesota. Our retail store is open year-round, except during major holidays, M-F 9-6, Sat. 10-6, and Sun. 11-5. Call for winter hours.
