  • Dairy Day at the Moo-seum

    To celebrate dairy’ past, present and future, Hoard Historical Museum and the National Dairy Shrine Museum will host Dairy Day at the Moo-seum from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 13. Join us for a parade of cows representing the seven dairy breeds. There also will be calves from the various dairy breeds. In addition, the Hoard Historical Museum and the National Dairy Shrine Museum will be open for visitors from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

    The cow parade will begin at 1 p.m.  Other fun activities include butter churning, free cheese tastings, barn games, dairy trivia, kids games, dairy treats and more.

    The Largest Competitive Cycling Event in the U.S., Tour of America's Dairyland presented by Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board celebrates its 7th year in 2015 with 11 straight days of racing, June 18-28th.

    The start-finish line will be at the intersection of Kinnickinnic and Lincoln avenues. Cyclists will pedal laps south on Kinnickinnic to Linus Street, Linus to Woodward Street, north on Woodward to Lincoln, west on Lincoln to Allis Street, north on Allis to Ward Street, west on Ward back to Kinnickinnic and then return south onto Kinnickinnic. During the day, streets along the course will be blocked and all traffic and Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) buses rerouted.

  • Farm Flavors® June Dinner Series

    A chef from an area restaurant will be preparing an elegant meal at Meuer Farm on Thursday, June 18. Cocktails begin at 5 p.m., Dinner at 6 p.m., and Farm Activity at 7:15 p.m. Join us for a showcase of fresh produce from our farm and the surrounding area. Each evening includes a cash bar, 3-5 course dinner and farm activity. Cost is $60/person.

    Even though our address is Chilton, WI. we are actually 10 miles west of Chilton on Hwy. 151, about 1/2 mile north of Brothertown (See map below), along the eastern shore of Lake Winnebago. We are located on the east side of the highway and have a long driveway with a large sign by the road!

    COMING FROM THE NORTH:
    If you are coming from the Fox Cities on Hwy. 55/114. When Hwy. 55 ends at the junction of Highway 151. Take Hwy. 151 towards Fond du Lac. I am only one mile from the Hwy. 55 and Hwy. 151 intersection. On the left side of the road. Coming from Green Bay. Follow Hwy. 57 into Chilton. Take a right onto Hwy. 151 at the first stop and go light in Chilton. Go 9 miles west of Chilton on Hwy. 151. Turn left at the stop sign at the bottom of the big hill. Go one mile, I am on your left. You can come from the north on Hwy. 41 and get off at the Hwy. 55 exit at Kaukauna. Just follow Hwy. 55 thru Kaukauna and go till Hwy. 55 ends. 

    COMING FROM THE SOUTH:
    Follow Hwy. 151 north of Fond du Lac. We are 20 minutes north of Fond du Lac, just 1/2 mile north of Brothertown on the right side of the road.
    If you come from Milwaukee, take Hwy. 41 north to Fond du Lac. Get off on the the Hwy. 151 North exit (Exit 95) and go 19 miles. Again I will be on your right just north of Brothertown.

    COMING FROM THE EAST:
    From Manitowoc, just follow Hwy. 151 through Chilton and then go 9 miles west of Chilton on Hwy. 151 and turn left at the bottom of the big hill, go one mile and I am on your left.

    Coming from Sheboygan, Plymouth or Kiel. Follow Hwy. 57 to New Holstein. Take county road H west out of new Holstein towards Brothertown, (11 miles). When you come to the stop sign in Brothertown, turn right onto Hwy. 151. Go 1/2 mile and I am on your right.

So stick around to hear some polka talent that will blow your mind and hopefully inspire you to kick up your heels at our “So You Think You Can Polka?” contest.   • Cones for a Cause

    During the entire month of June, Lamers Dairy in Appleton will offer their soft-serve cones for just $.50.  All proceeds will go to St. Joseph's Food Program.

    During the week you can watch them bottle their milk through a 30 ft. window and view a painted mural of the over 100 year history of Lamers Dairy.

    Directions: From HWY 441, take either the Calumet (KK) or CE exits. To avoid construction, take the Calumet St. exit. Go East on Calumet St, the first left is Stoney Brook Rd. Turn left onto Stoney Brook and follow it until it ends at Creek View Lane. Turn left onto Creek View. Creek View turns into Speel School Rd. Lamers Dairy is on the right side.

  • Old Time Cheesemaking at Imobersteg Factory

    Join Master Cheesemakers in the making of a 90 pound wheel of Swiss cheese, as it was done over a century ago on Saturday, June 13 at the National Historic Cheesemaking Center in Monroe. The milk arrives approximately 9:00 AM and the day continues to mid afternoon when a completed wheel of Swiss cheese is on the press table. Take your turn in stirring the kettle. Food and beverages will be available throughout the day, and the museum is open from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. You will enjoy live accordion, yodeling and alp horn selections. The day will also include a cheese grading demonstration by Master Cheesemakers, creating cheese spreads, and cheese carving.
