A light-bodied red wine, Beaujolais is made from the Gamay grape. It takes its name from the historic Beaujolais wine-producing region. This wine is known for its easy drinking and traditional flavors of cherries and violets. It also is lower in tannins than its red siblings. Beaujolais pairs beautifully with red meat, pasta, and mushroom-inspired dishes.
