Trim and finely chop apples and onions, discarding apple core. Place apples, onions, raisins, vinegar and mustard in heavy bottomed pot. Bring to boil over high heat. Lower heat to simmer. Tie dried spices in cheesecloth. Add spice bundle and butter to pot. Let simmer for about 2 hours. Bring to room temperature and remove cheesecloth before serving.


Pair with a Wisconsin Alpine-style, cheddar or gouda cheese.
