Heat oven to 400°F. In skillet, fry bacon until crisp; drain, reserving and measuring fat. If necessary, add enough cooking oil to fat to measure 1/3 cup. Combine fat with egg and milk. Set aside. Crumble bacon; set aside.

In mixing bowl, stir together flour, sugar and baking powder. Make well in center. Add fat-egg mixture all at once to flour mixture. Stir just until moistened. Batter will be lumpy. Carefully fold in bacon, cheese and cereal.

Fill buttered or paper-lined cups of 12-cup muffin tin about 3/4 full. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden. Remove from pans; cool on wire rack.
