Ingredients

Cooking Instructions

1

If using gas grill, heat 1 side of grill over medium. If using campfire or charcoal grill, heat charcoal or wood to white ash temperature. If using charcoal grill, place charcoal to side of the grill.

2

Slice off top of bread loaf. Remove bread from interior of loaf, cutting in chunks and leaving at least 1/2-inch crusty wall to form bread bowl. Set bowl and bread chunks aside.

3

In large food processor, combine cheddar and garlic. Pulse until cheese and garlic are combined. Add beer, cream cheese, salt and pepper. Pulse until well mixed. Scoop cheese mixture into prepared bread bowl.

4

Loosely wrap bread bowl with 2-3 sheets of heavy duty aluminum foil. Place on grill side opposite of heated side. Cover grill (or cover with large pot if using campfire); grill 25-30 minutes or until cheese is heated through and gooey (if cheese is not sufficiently heated and melted, unwrapped bread bowl can be placed in microwave oven on high and heated in 30-second increments until heated and melted to your taste).

5

Serve bread bowl with reserved bread chunks and vegetable/fruit dippers. The fondue is also delicious with cooked beef, steak, pork or chicken chunks.
