Grill or broil black bean about 4 minutes each side or until internal temperature reaches 155°F (temperature will continue to rise to 160°F). During final 1-2 minutes cooking time, place pepper jack slice over patty and grill or broil just until cheese starts to melt.

Spread toasted roll with 1/2 ounce ranchero sauce and top with hot burger. Spread burger with remaining ranchero sauce and top with shredded cheese. Broil or hold burger under heat as necessary to lightly melt cheese. Top with corn salsa and freshly sliced avocado (optional). Finish with hot fried egg.
