Our company’s founder, Leonard “Butch” Gentine, started the company in 1974 as a small brokerage firm in the business of purchasing, aging and distributing large blocks of bulk cheese. Today, the company is a leading national cheese supplier with one of the largest privately held cheese inventories in the country and an impressive state-of-the-art production and distribution facility. We offer Industrial, Retail and Foodservice sourcing. INDUSTRIAL: Sourcing natural cheese for cut-and-wrap operators, food processors, cheese ingredient makers and finished food manufacturers. We offer long-hold and set-aside aging programs – typically for Cheddars and hard Italian cheeses – which includes financing of inventory for customers who don’t want to hold cheese. Risk management strategies to “lock in pricing” add yet another service to our industrial sourcing. RETAIL: Serving nearly half of the top retailers in the United States, either by managing their entire private label cheese program or by sharing the business as a partner. Our typical Private Brand offering consists of well over 100 cheese items, including pillow pack or stand-up gusseted pouches for shreds. FOODSERVICE: Serving many of the nation’s largest restaurant chains and distributors with popular cheese flavors and unique cheese products with proprietary flavor profiles to meet our customers’ specific needs.
