Chalet Cheese Cooperative

Chalet Cheese is a Green County, farmer-owned co-op, founded in 1885. In 2004, Chalet acquired the highly reputed Deppeler Cheese Factory. With a common goal of true craftsmanship, the companies and their master cheesemakers have won numerous awards at international and national competitions. Chalet remains the only U.S. producer of Limburger, the famous surfaced-ripened cheese with pungent aroma. The products are distributed under brands that include Country Castle and Deppeler. Other specialties are Swiss, Natural Smoked Swiss, Baby Swiss, German Brick and rBST-free cheese.
